Your marriage deserves a follow-up visit
You did the hard, good work of the Couples Check-up. You took the assessment, spent a weekend with us at the Refuge, and went home with a plan for your marriage.
Now it’s time for a follow-up visit. We go back to the doctor and the dentist for regular check-ups, and a marriage deserves the same care. Check-up 2.0 is a weekend to celebrate your growth, be honest about what still needs work, and keep going from surviving to thriving.
Check-up 1.0 is where every couple starts. 2.0 comes next.
Check-up 2.0 is for couples who have already attended a Couples Check-up 1.0 weekend at the Marriage Refuge. If you haven’t done Check-up 1.0 yet, start there.
You’ve been here before
Check-up 1.0 gave you a first, detailed look at your marriage. 2.0 builds on that foundation.
See your progress
Before the weekend you retake the online Couple Check-up (Prepare-Enrich) assessment. We compare your new report with your earlier one, side by side, so you can see where you’ve grown and where to focus next.
A fresh plan
You’ll leave with updated, practical next steps for the season you’re in now.
Limited to three couples
Each 2.0 weekend is limited to three couples, with group sessions, couple time and private coaching with Mark and Karen.
Friday 7 pm to Sunday 11:30 am
Friday
Arrive at 7 pm, settle in, and reconnect over fun, low-key activities. Please eat dinner before you come.
Saturday
Breakfast, then a full day of workshop and coaching, including:
- Couple Check-up Comparison Analysis
- DISC Analysis Review
Dinner, then pool, spa, sauna, game room, or sitting by the fire.
Sunday
Breakfast, a devotional and communion time, and we finish by 11:30 am.
You’ll have your own private suite, and we provide meals, snacks and drinks all weekend. The Refuge is in Vista, near San Diego. We’ll send directions once you’re registered.

Space is limited, and weekends fill up.
Cost
The Marriage Refuge is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit ministry supported by donations. Please pray about how you’d like to support the ministry, and let the Lord lead you. Some couples choose to pay it forward for a future couple.
